A photo session with AHYAN

Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce AHYAN; my youngest model ever. He was 26 days old when I took these pictures. Not only he is first son of my dear friend Aamir, but also he is a real poser. I plan to do one more of his shoot later next year when he settles down a little because at the moment he is still going through evolution period I guess. I fully enjoyed the session.
The setup was quite simple as usual with white sheets and one reflector. Thank you Asif and Madiha for your help with holding my background etc. I have uploaded a small video version of the slideshow here but you guys can request full screen high resolution version which is about 6MB in size (PC executable). Enjoy!

Amma

She is very old, full of dignity and works hard as a house keeper to earn her living. Everybody calls her “Amma” (mother).

I was busy taking Iram & Ayaz’s post wedding picture in Karachi last month when suddenly an old lady walked in. She had an amazing character in her face & seemed perfect model. I wanted a portrait but didn’t want to offend her. I started begging my wife Madiha to ask her instead and she did (Lucky me). I shot 3 frames and she didn’t move her face. I think this is going to be my favourite portrait. What do you think? What is the first thing that goes through your mind when you first look at it? What do you see in her eyes?

Madiha & Rauf : Walima Highlights

This is 1 min intro I've put together from our Walima Reception Day which took place at Royal Palm Golf & Country Club in Lahore on 28th October 2007. This footage will be used as a starting intro on my DVD & the Blu-Ray before it gets to the main menu. Soundtrack is from Ohm Shanti Ohm movie which I have not watched yet. I just found it on the same Disc (No idea if it relates to somebody's funeral in the actual movie..lol) Highlights from day one (barat) to follow soon. Comments are welcome.
Enjoy!

p.s. The actual video was widescreen but this blogger has stretched it to letterbox format. Bear with me until I figure out some better option to upload the next footage from Day one. In the meanwhile some selection of pictures from both days can be seen here

Huge “Thank You” to my friends Amjad, Adnan & Rizwan for their huge contribution in preserving our memories.

Iram & Ayaz's Wedding Pictures

Those of you who don't know, I & Madiha got married on 28th November 07 in Lahore. Week after mine, It was my friend Ayaz & Iram's wedding in Karachi. Ayaz's wedding was planned in Denmark originally but due to the conflict with my arrangements, he also moved the whole event to Pakistan so that everybody could participate in both weddings in one trip. My job on his wedding was to take control of multimedia side of things :-). I am loaded of all this data from both weddings and most of the images will be uploaded to my Google Album and can be accessed here: http://picasaweb.google.com/rauf.niaz where I will be adding more picture in coming weeks.

Iram & Ayaz’s engagement photo session was done on Heathrow airport in a rush few months ago. It is available to download as a PC slideshow from http://www.rauf.co.uk/ayaz.exe

High Definition Video of both weddings is under post production. SD DVDs will be available in couple of weeks followed by either Blu-Ray or HD-DVD soon for full HD experience.

A photo session with Shayaan

Iqtidar, my photography enthusiast friend had booked me several weeks before his son Shayaan was born, to take some pictures for him. Our initial thought was to do it in the first week as a ‘new born shoot’, but then we decided to give it couple of months, to let the baby settle down a little. Finally we had some free time and decided to do it on fine sunny afternoon of 1st September 2007 at Iqtidar’s new house in Ilford, London. I took white cotton and a semi transparent silk sheet with me in case needed as a background or to cover any distractions. We arranged both sheets in the garden and let him play on it. Here is the result: www.rauf.co.uk/sh.exe
Save the slide show on your local computer and close all other applications. Turn the volume on and enjoy! :-)
